Public record requests are necessary to inform you about the actual finances of Lebanon City Schools. These requests are not "massive abuse" as board members are alleging. If you're interesting in the truth and what is really going on within LCS, you will appreciate the time, energy and money spent to obtain these PUBLIC RECORDS. Many financial data files were obtained electronically after MUCH resistance from school administration. You will soon understand their resistance as the financial records are in opposition to their prior statements. This website was launched when the lack of transparency by Lebanon City Schools was discovered. This is NOT a political website and/or "levy" website. The main purpose of this website is to keep citizens informed about what is happening within the district.
The documents may contain information that is "upsetting" to particular staff members. Unfortunate, yet factual. If fiscally responsible, sensible and ethical individuals were making appropriate decisions, and being "transparent" as they claim, this website would be nonexistent. If you have nothing to cover and hide, you have nothing to fear from this website.
This is not a win or lose game, it is the education of our children. We need ethical leaders! We need board members and a superintendent who will NOT sneak behind the taxpayer’s back to approve union contracts, further burying the district financially. We need adults to make TOUGH decisions that our district can sustain over time and adults who are concerned about the well being of students. WE NEED CHANGE!
As a United States Citizen, you need to understand that school records belong to YOU! They are PUBLIC RECORDS. We are Lebanon City Schools and district employees work for the taxpayers. If there are any specific documents you would like to view, call Eric Sotzing or send him an email with your request. You are NOT required to provide a name and requests CAN be anonymous. If there is something you would like to view and are hesitant to request, send an email To LEBANONSCHOOLFACTZ@GMAIL.COM and the information will be requested from the school and emailed to you or posted on the website.
